This is the bustling city on the bottom of the north island. Some of you in Truckee might remember a Kiwi named Todd. He lives here now with his sweet girlfriend Sara. Today I tried my luck busking down on Cuba Street. I made $30 bucks. Not too shabby for playing a little music. So I have a dilemma. If I bring my car over on the ferry to the south island it will cost me $120 plus a $50 fare ticket. The car doesn’t run too well and I’m not sure just how long it will last me. In fact it could breakdown at any time really… I could sell the car here and do the rest of the trip by train. However, it would be difficult to get to some of the rock climbing crags without a vehicle. Hmmm.....I’m not sure what to do. Gas is REALLY expensive, about $1.45 a liter. This country is costing me quite a bit more than I expected! The freedom of a car is nice though and it’s great to not have to lug my backpack and guitar around all the time...and it’s a nice place to hide out in when it rains! Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
