It was a rough night falling asleep at the Nadi Bay Resort. The band was right below my room. They were playing good ol’ classics like Country Roads and Sweet Caroline, Fiji style. Very....festive. I shouldn’t complain too much cause I’m sure I’ve kept a few folks up myself. Especially at campgrounds in West Virginia. A few of my dorm mates were cigarette smokers too, ugh. Needless to say I was stoked to wake up and head out to New Zealand. The good weather followed me. I got caught in a hail storm this afternoon. Auckland reminds me of an east coast Santa Cruz town if that makes sense. It’s got a nice feel to it, I like it. I met a Canadian gal, McKenzie, in the airport and we’re staying at a place called the Bamber House (http://hostelbackpacker.com) It’s nice. We have a big kitchen and a private room with a walk in closet! Crazy! I cooked up a lot of veggies and I’m feeling right at home. Hopefully, I’ll be heading up to the very tip of the north island tomorrow. To a place called Spirit’s Bay.
