It All Comes Together

Australia is great. It’s been flat and dry, and hot and beautiful. I flew into Melbourne and a fellow Truckee friend, Austin, picked me up. We saw this awesome guy, Bo Jenkins, perform (http://www.bojenkins.com). Ridiculous rhythm player, full sounds, good beats, nice harmonica accompaniment too. He played a left handed guitar strung backwards, he rocked. Fun as it all was and even though Austin can keep me entertained with his sheer wittiness and nutty personality, I only lasted about three days cause ya’ll know well by now that I’m not much of a city person.I hopped on a bus yesterday and in a few hours time I ended up in Lorne. It’s a cute town with an awesome sandy beach, tasty cafes and a pub. I met some travelers from Holland and the UK at a Backpackers I stayed at who are a mighty fun bunch. I even got to do a massage exchange for board. The owner was in a bad bike wreck about 30 years ago, so he has a lot of scar tissue and a limited range of motion. Today I got hold of an Australian massage client I met in Truckee last March. He’s a builder and his house is gorgeous. It overlooks the ocean on top of a steep hill. His wife and kiddies are sweet and life is grand. I got to play in the ocean waves. Ahhhh, so nice. It’s been a long while since I’ve been in waves large enough to surf. So yeah, good stuff, I love it when things work out. Gonna head to the pub tonight, swim in the ocean all day tomorrow and watch some adventure racers swim and bike and run, etc.
