My Wwoofing has led me to Lynian Park (http://www.lynianpark.co.nz) which is in between Arthur’s Pass and Christchurch. It is a stunning place and the owners are delightful company. On my birthday I headed out to a town called Hanmer Springs to do a little hot soaking. When I got there it was packed. So I decided to do what any California gal would do, I went wine tasting instead. The Rieslings are dry and delicious. With a good buzz on I came back to a tasty meal and a homemade chocolate cake. I then proceeded to lie spread eagle on the floor for aboutt a half hour ,recuperating. My back has been giving me some trouble this past month and it has been a struggle to get healthy again. My birthday wish was for my back to get better. I’m telling you this now because my wish came true and I feel about 99% better. (The owner of Lynian Park also happens to be a great deep tissue massage therapist) Last night the winds picked up considerably. This morning there was a lot of debris and fallen tree branches on the property. Not too far from here a man was hit by a fallen tree while driving in his car. He was trapped inside for quite some time and a helicopter had to bring him to the hospital. I am glad I was indoors because camping out would have been frightening. New Zealand is after all just two small islands. This is a very windy country and is quite exposed to many storms that brew up across the ocean. Lynian Park is treating me well, it has an incredible energy about it. It’s nice and quiet and I have plenty of space to meditate, do yoga, rest and reflect. I am learning many valuable lessons in self awareness and personal growth. Namaste
